The Nourished Life
Elizabeth Walling, an independent health researcher and freelance writer, is on a journey to living the nourished life. Her passion for health and writing led her to found her blog The Nourished Life as a source of information for others who are also interested in improving their health and well-being the natural way.
As a society, we are chronically undernourished. Not only are we lacking nutrition from our diet, we are also exhausted, depressed, unmotivated, anxious and generally miserable. We’re starving on an emotional and mental level.
Like many of her readers, Elizabeth began her journey in a state of confusion. She was following a low-fat, low-calorie diet and exercising her little heart out at the local gym. She was doing everything “right” but was still suffering from physical and emotional health problems like adult acne, mood swings, insomnia, terrible PMS and bouts of depression. To put it simply, she was downright miserable.
So she started thinking outside of the box. As she read the works of experts like Diana Schwarzbein, Sally Fallon Morell and Julia Ross, she discovered that she had in fact been doing everything wrong! With real traditional foods, nutritional therapy and healthy lifestyle changes, she was able to turn her health completely around.
While she has made mistakes along the way, Elizabeth is never afraid to say she was wrong or admit that something just didn’t work for her. Living a nourished life is not about conforming to someone else’s ideas about health. It’s about acquiring the tools and information you need to find out what you need to nourish yourself.
Elizabeth lives with her husband and two children in the beautiful mountains of northern Alabama with their general menagerie of farm animals. They drink raw milk, unschool, and basically enjoy living outside of the box.
